Lillistone Loves... DARK LIPS | MAC CREME IN YOUR COFFEE

So, instead of being productive upon leaving the library armed with all the knowledge I need to complete this assignment, I am in fact, sitting here telling you about my new lipstick obsession.
Mac Creme in your coffee.
I bought this some time last year just before summer (namely when the loan just dropped - naughty of me I know!) but when i first tried it I hated it and just pushed it to the back of my collect. This probably had something to do with the fact it was summer and I also purchased Mac shy girl, so became besotted with that instead.

A couple weeks back however, I was getting ready to go out for dinner with some friends and wanted to mix things up a bit, so I started rummaging and found this. 'Ahh' I thought, this could be a good fall/winter colour and i've been hooked ever since!

This is a cremesheen and as of late i've been reaching for this finished opposed to my overly loved mattes. They make your lips look so full and surprising last just as long as the matte finishes.
I wore this all day today. I've eaten and been drinking and this guy hasn't budged - you know when you get that awful 'lip liner' look when it starts to wear off, well he won't do this!

Que close up and my awfully hairy chin haha:
In this picture it looks a lot pinker, but it definitely has more of a browny tinge - the lightings a tad off (sorry!) The first picture is a more true colour representation.

Anyway, I need to stop looking at Mac lipsticks otherwise I will buy cyber and rebel! (massive hint to anyone that knows me and doesn't know what to get me for christmas yet :D)

Lillistone Loves... DARK NAIL VARNISH | TED BAKER

I'm guessing you have probably trolled through numerous blogs today and everyone has said the same thing, but I really cannot believe it's the first of December already. CHRISTMAS IS COMING. Where has time gone? In a months time i'll be bloody 20, which btw, scares me to death! Also, I don't have an advent calendar this year - what's up with that?!
But seeing as it's officially winter for me now, i'm whacking out the dark nail varnish! Winter always brings out the vampy/goth side of me and I love it!

I've noticed that the condition of my nails over the last months has improved so much and I can only thank OPI nail envy , but not the original. This one is for soft and thin nails.
I stupidly in the summer thought it would be a good idea to get a gellish (more like hellish) manicure. At the time it looked lovely and got sooooooooo many compliments, but when it came to taking it off and the after care of my nails...oh dear god! They would break all the time and where so brittle and bendy! But any who, here's a picture of them from sumer:
It was such a nice colour, but NEVER again!

Anyway, as I was saying...even if you don't suffer from soft and thin nails I think you could benefit from OPI nail envy because it's just a lovely treatment for them. If you're anything like me and you paint your nails a lot, you need to treat your nails! I put two coats of this on before any coloured varnish I use, then use the Sally Hansen Hard as Nails as a top coat. Again, this just adds to strengthening my nails.

On to the star of the show: The Ted Baker nail varnish! I cannot for the life of me find the name of this varnish because it came in a set I got for Christmas last year! But it's a extremely dark purple/black/brown colour which is very popular this fall/winter and many brands are doing them. A similar colour is Essie - Velvet Voyeur which can be found here: http://www.thehut.com/essie-fall-collection-velvet-voyeur-15ml/10304648.html
The pictures really don't do this varnish justice, it is so shiny and lasts pretty well on my nails, at least 5 days. which is fine by me because I get so bored of my nails and I would paint them a different colour everyday if I could, but this would be a very expensive process that sadly my student loan won't allow for. Sad times!

Lillistone Loves... MARY LOU MANIZER REVIEW

This little bugger took so long to get to me! When I first ordered it I got a dispatch email to say it would be with me in 2 days. GREAT I thought and really hyped myself up for this. 2 days past and I didn't have it, so I checked my emails to make sure I had read it probably and thats when I saw it. It had been delivered to my old address! Note to self people: always delete your old addresses from your online shopping accounts!
A tremendously long 2 weeks later and it finally arrived.
http://www.feelunique.com/p/theBalm-Mary-Lou-Manizer-Luminizer-8.5g £15
So, I've been using this for about a week now and it is by far my favourite highlighter and I cannot recommend it enough. I find that most highlighters I use just give a weird pink tinge to my face and I have a lot of redness in my face and I find pink/pearl highlighters, just well, highlight that - and I definitely don't want my red face made worse!
Like Soap and Glory Glow all out, all that does is make me look like a massive pink glitter ball! Having said that though, I'm trying to get on with it and find other uses because I'm annoyed that I bought it knowing that I wouldn't really like it, I just get suckered in with the cute packaging!

On The Balm website it says it has a honey-hued tint and in the pan I definitely agree and when it's applied to the cheeks it just gives a natural 'glow from within' as they say, which in my books is always something I look for in base makeup products.
However, I haven't used it as an eyeshadow yet, so maybe the colour pay off will be different when applied to the eyes - maybe the honey-hue will be more prominent?
It has the butteriest texture, similar to Urban Decay eyeshadows, which was really unexpected and as soon as I opened it I ran up to my housemates room and just made her touch it! We both stood there stroking our hands for a while after we swatched it!

Look at that pigmentation! It's definitely one to be applied with a light hand and a small brush, but I've never found it to be glittery, even if I do layer it up on a night out.

This is the colour pay off from one swipe in the pan!

So  basically, if this highlighter were to belong to a house in Hogwarts, the sorting hat would definitely put it in Gryffindor and Dumbledore would give it 100 points for being the best highlighter around!

Can you tell i'm watching Harry Potter right now?

Lillistone Loves... FUN EVERYDAY LOOK

I've been getting extremely bored of my everyday makeup lately. So, as I was going out for the day I thought, why not change it up a bit? So I went rummaging through my makeup storage and found an eyeliner I have bought ages ago, which I had never really used and forgotten about. The Rimmel Exaggerate Waterproof Kohl Liner in Aqua Sparkle 240

I used this just in the waterline.
Don't you think it makes the green in my eyes really stand out?

On my lid I used two colours from my Estèe Lauder Pure Colour palette - 47 nude Fresco over the entire lid, then 04 wild Sable through the crease (Also smudged under my waterline). I roughly lined my top lash line with Estèe Lauder Intense Kajal in 02Blackened Coca then blended with my Elf shadow brush. On the lashes is Estèe Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Waterproof Volume Mascara.
Can you tell I'm having a love affair Estèe Lauder at the moment?

On the rest of my face I used YSL Le Teint Touche Èclat as my base. Words cannot describe how much I love this foundation, but i'm going to be doing a separate post on this bad boy soon!
Then concealed my face invaders with Collection's Lasting Perfection - this was also used under my eyes with The Body Shop's Lightening Touch layered on top just add a little highlight to that area.
All of that was set with Laura Geller Balance N Brighten.
For the brows I used Mac Eyebrow Pencil in Fling, because they are painfully sparse! Although I am in the process of growing them, so hopefully they won't be like this for long.
For Bronzer and Highlighter I used Bourjois Dèlice de Soleil (I really don't like the chocolate bronzer everyone goes on about!) and Soap & Glory Glow All Out.

On my lips in this picture is just a lip balm from Body Shop, but I actually wore Mac Shy Girl because I found it in my bag whilst looking for my keys, which was a very pleasant surprise!

Lillistone loves... THE BODY SHOP

I have to say, when it comes to skincare I definitely dabble in many different brands (probably too many for my poor student loan to handle!). I love finding new products and YouTube is a massive influence - I know I'm not the only one that has watched a video and lusted after someones baby smooth, flawless skin and bought everything they mentioned!

To be honest though, The body shop is a brand I will always come back to! No matter what my problem is, be it a nasty breakout, or dry skin, I just know it will work.

Lately my skin has absolutely hated me, so it was time for a bit of shopping:

I had a horrible break out on my chin and in general my skin became very dry and dull, but this is probably my fault! All those late nights 'studying' right?
Let's be honest, too much alcohol + forgetting to take your makeup off before you fall asleep is never a good combination.

The Aloe range has really cleared my chin up, whilst being very gentle to my face. It's still not perfect mind you, but it's getting there. Plus the three step method was only £18 because of the christmas deals!

The facial cleanser is a rich cream constancy and leaves my face feeling fresh and smooth - I do find if i've worn particularly heavy foundation that day, I will need to double cleanse e.g. my Estèe Lauder Double wear. Once with my Aloe calming cleanser, then the Vitamin C Cleansing Polish to make sure everything is off! (Oh, the calming facial cleanser doubles as a good eye makeup remover too!)

Once i'm all clean I use the Aloe Calming Toner, again to make sure all my makeup is removed and to just prime my skin for moisturising.

Then if I'm feeling adventurous, I'll apply the Aloe Protective Restoring Mask, but I'll only do this before going to bed really because it needs a few hours to 'sink in'. However, it is a lovely surprise to wake up with baby soft skin! On a normal day I'll stick to the Aloe day cream and Vitamin C eye cream combo - the eye cream duo leaves a lovely dewy finish and really brightens that area, this is especially good as the size of my dark circles are borderline ridiculous at the moment! I haven't really heard anyone talking about it, but it should definitely be hyped: step one if a roller ball with a cooling gel, this really helps with puffiness.
Step two is a doe foot applicator which comes out with the vitamin C cream on the tip for an easy distribution.

On to the Tee Tree face mask. Me and this bad boy have had a fabulous relationship in the past and I feel that it will only get stronger; when I have my particularly pesky spots, he takes the redness down a lot and is just a lovely mask in general. If you like that cooling sensation, then this is definitely one to try! It can leave your skin a tad on the dry side, but once washed off just apply a nice moisturiser and you're good to go.

Oh and when I got to the till the lovely shop assistant told me I had money to spend on my  body shop card, so naturally I picked some other bits up:

The strawberry body butter, Raspberry lip balm and Absinthe hand cream.
Can I just say, the smell of these products is amazing! I just want to eat the body butter and lip balm and the hand cream makes your hands feel so fresh its unreal - just go try them, you really have to!

Lillistone loves... TOPSHOP WISHLIST

Topshop seem to really be bringing this A/W. I don't think there has been an instance where I haven't walked out feeling a little bit sorry for myself!
At the moment I'm drawn to anything that looks fluffy and comfortable - you know those people you see walking around shops just touching everything? The ones that look a tad weird? Well that's me! Everybody I go shopping with end up leaving me, because i'll just be stroking a jumper in the corner. If something feels nice I HAVE to buy it.

The knitted fluffy crew jumper's in there at the moment are something else! But I do fear that if i owned one I would just catch myself rubbing my belly!
However, in the winter months I do find myself flitting towards the darker colours in my wardrobe, which is more often then not black. So I can see myself playing with different textures in the next couple of months, just to spice things up a little bit.
Fluffy Knitted Crew Jumper
Scarfs are another big obsession of mine! I definitely do not need a new scarf, because I have about a million dotted around my room waiting to be loved, but there are such pretty ones about at the moment. I love the way they just make an outfit!
Oversized Blanket Scarf
I usually gravitate towards snoods because they are just so easy. You never have to worry about the wind carrying it away, or getting the positioning right; they just work!
But when I saw this I just knew it had to be mine. It's like your own personal blanket that you can take everywhere with you (massive plus with the ridiculously cold weather in the UK at the mo!).

Skirts. I think skirts with really thick wooly tights and boots look so cute in the winter and to be honest, I think it's much warmer than wearing jeans. Well, at least it's warmer than wearing my Leigh jeans that definitely need to be re-branded as leggings! (sorry Topshop, Love you really).
Check A-Line Skirt
Can I be the first to say that I'm really not loving the red tartan trend, but this is perfect! Paired with a black polo top and some black pointed pumps and you will look like you've just stepped out of Clueless, which is the best kind of outfit to have right? (if you don't know this film you haven't lived!).

Anyway, there's a long list of things I could add to this, but then i'd just be tormenting myself.
Hey ho, life of a student right?
xoxo
